Secretul sanatatii cretanilor se pare ca ar fi modul de viata activ si regimul bogat in legume,fructe si ulei de masline. Dieta mediteraneana se bazeaza foarte mult pe consumul de fructe, legume proaspete si carbohidrati complecsi cum ar fi painea integrala, cerealele si leguminoasele.
